Police respond to 9-1-1 at apartments

There is little information known at this time, but Deep River Police provided emergency response this afternoon to a 9-1-1 call at the Huron Street apartments in Deep River. The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP are also on scene in support. Police have shut down Huron Street and Rutherford Ave at the intersection in front of the apartment complex. Further information will be posted as it becomes available.

UPDATE: There are still few details, but Deep River Police say they responded to 42A Huron St. at approximately 4 pm Saturday to a “disturb the peace” call. The situation is under control and police were clearing the scene at about 8:50 pm Saturday evening.

Anais Gauthier of the Skinouk XC ski club collapses at the finish line after competing in the Peewee Girls 4.5 km race at the annual Silver Spoon Ski Fest in Deep River Saturday. About 290 skiers took part in Saturday’s events. Full results will be published in next week’s NRT.
