Dutch student wraps up local visit

Casper Pachocki, a 17 year-old high school student from the Netherlands, has wrapped up a busy two-week visit to Deep River.

Dutch students are required to travel to English-speaking countries to practice their English language skills, which wasn’t too much of a reach for Pachocki – a multi-linguist who is able to speak six different languages. Pachocki stayed at the home of Helena Rummens and enjoyed a wide variety of activities here, including hiking, kayaking and serving at the Deep River Players mystery dinner theatre production “Habit of Murder”.

He’s shown here taking time out of his busy schedule volunteering to sell memberships outside of valu-mart during the Horticultural Society’s annual membership campaign.

Horticultural Society memberships will continue to be sold outside of valu-mart on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until May 24, and at the post office on Wednesdays.
