Laurentian Hills unveiled its 2017 budget at the finance and personnel committee last week.
Mayor Jed Reinwald explained that each committee had worked on their individual budgets. Last month, all of council met to bring the whole budget package together.
Based on that work, Reinwald said the proposed budget contained no increase in the municipal tax rate for 2017.
Despite the decision not to increase the tax rate, Reinwald said the town would be moving ahead with some large projects.
“We can now meet some necessary maintenance and capital projects, while maintaining a zero per cent tax increase,” he said.
