RIP: Frew, Griffiths

FREW, Bob, Sr.

Bob Frew Sr. passed away at Miramachi Lodge on May 23rd, 2017 in his 99th year. Bob was predeceased by his wife Bridie and his son Kenneth. He is survived by his son Robert Bob Frewof Medicine Hat and his granddaughters, Melissa (husband Dan) and Tanya both from Calgary and his great grandchildren, Hadlee and Reece. He is also survived by his son Alex (wife Donna) of Deep River and his grandchildren Katrina and Seamus (wife Amy). Great grandchildren Kylie and Madison from Whistler, B.C. and granddaughter Serena (husband Leo) Vancouver and great-grandson Levi. Bob was born in County Antrim, Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1957 with his family moving to Deep River the following year. He worked at A.E.C.L. as a machinist for over thirty years. He was a keen athlete and loved to cycle and cross country ski. He was an avid outdoors-man, canoeist, fisherman, hunter and skeet shooter who spent much of his time in Algonquin Park. He will sadly be missed by his family and many friends.

At the Deep River and District Hospital on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Kevin Griffiths age 80 years. Beloved husband of Shirley Griffiths (nee: Crawford). Loving father of David Griffiths KevinGriffiths and his wife Jackie of Port Elgin, Heather Etmanski and her husband Dennis of Deep River and the late Michelle Griffiths. Cherished grandfather of Emily, Madelynn and Braeden. Dear brother of David Griffiths and his wife Vicky, Regina Staubitzer and her husband Seigfried, Carmel Power and her husband Gerry, Barbara Hiscock and her husband Paul and Dorothy Crocker-Griffiths all of Newfoundland. Predeceased by 2 infant twins. As per Kevin’s request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be conducted in the Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River at a later date. In memoriam donations to the Deep River and District Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.
